BAXALOUGE
By Steve Baxley
Its like a night in China..without having to pay for the Happy Ending

THE LATE SHIT..UH SHIFT

So the final nail in NBC's rating coffin, the last bit of the Ben Silverman era of DISASTER has now been given its last rights, but its still a mess that even would make John Maden Retire as Analyst..oh thats right , HE HAS!!

On Thursday morning, FTVLIVE.COM broke the news that NBC woud be pulling the life support plug off of the last of former NBC entertainment president Ben Silvermann's rather disasterous tenure, as THE JAY LENO SHOW breathes its last breath on February 12th, just right before they lose more Money and Ratings to the 2010 Winter olympics.
Meanwhile while FTVLIVE.COM's initial report was being "poo-poo'd" by NBC executives who then started an investigation as to who the leak was that gave Scott Jones at FTVLIVE the info, the mainstream media AND TMZ were picking up the story , and TMZ went further and got more info on just WHAT the NBC execs would do to try to save face.

So, whats the big plan?? ok here it is ..RIGHT NOW anyway

Following the olympics look for
Jay Leno at 11:35pm
Conan at 12:05am
Fallon at 1:05am
Daly at 2:05am

Simple dont you think??, welllllllllllllllllllllllllll...

Seems that Conan isnt tooo happy with NBC's new Late Night plan after Vancouver and may decide to BOLT from the troubled network and take his gig to a new home, maybe FOX. which is the logical choice, that and or CABLE.
And lets not forget Carson Daly.....

OK so he may be the outsider in this since 2:05 am to 5am are regulated to the affiliates, who lets face it were threatening to bolt and go public with their displeasure at the LENO at 10pm move, lead by a thorn at the side of NBC ..Miami based Station owner Ed Ansin whose SUNBEAM Communications owns Boston TV Beheamouth WHDH TV, who when it was announced that LENO would be at 10pm , at first said NO WAY , and NBC then countered with a threat of NBC removal if Ed didnt play ball...I guess you could say that on Feb 12..NBC will be kissing Ed's backside.

So, what is the lesson in this that we have learned.....?

Simple, never trust your future on the whims of a man who really had no concept on what the true viewer wants !

That, and with COMCAST thisclose on getting 51% of NBC from GE there is a lot of futures that remain uncertain, but what this also says is that the model for Network Television is so outdated that its very own future could be gone and done!

The internet and DVD have totally taken the media to a new frontier, and sadly ..the old time model may indeed be as extinct as the dinosaur.

And if you disagree with me, then you sir,are ..well you cant be as stupid as Olbermann..unless you are a slug.but that would be an insult ..TO SLUGS
