Ahhh, to live in Michigan..WHY WOULD YOU??
Remember kids,a few blogs ago I said that Californina wasnt as different as Michigan..especially when it came to stormy weather?
We had a DOOZY of a storm here kids, 100+ mph winds,hail,rain,tornados that not only tore trees up from their roots but totally downed power lines.
In fact yours truly was sans power for half the day on friday,and its still a mess as we speak,our CBS station WLNS does a good job with coverae, including now get this if its a MAJOR storm, they interrupt ALL programming and go full on storm coverage,a plus is also if you have a radio you can hit the 87.7 fm frequency and get the WLNS audio feed, which is pretty awesome indeed.
Right now the station is 3 full with weather folks a new guy is supposed to make it a quartet again after may sweeps, lets hope he gets ready for all over hellfire, cause michigan weather IS different,tho simular to what they hit upon in california.
All in all, it was weird to see some trees down, and all of jackson sans power, in fact only two restaurants and motels were
out of luck, while others including OLD COUNTRY BUFFET were packed to the rafters, even Denny's which was so understaffed it was amazing!
The city survived...NEXT!
WAL-MART is coming, and OHHHH are we ready for the knives to be out in force!, see Jackson was only a two store town, K-MART and grand rapids based Meijers ruled the roost, then came SAM'S CLUB,and then talk of WAL-MART coming here to Jackson, well this got the feathers ruffled of both K and Meijers, and they bitched all the way to the mayor, and we never heard from WAL-MART again, so both K and Meijers continued their power over the city, that is until a deal was reached with the owner of a local mall to buy the old Montgomery Wards store..guess what, the buyer was WAL-MART!!
So then,K and Meijers had a big billboard saying that WAL-MART was anti-union and would mean the end of the world...sadly it wa smet with laughs, but you can feel the effect WAL-MART is having with Meijers ..Meijers is so scared because its a 24 hour WAL-MART, they have made critical errors in EVERYTHING,jacking up prices,and getting rid of good folks...Meijers is now feeling the shadow of WAL-MART...and all I can say is , GOOOOOODDDDD!!!!
