Much to talk about, lets start
TOPIC ONE:BEAT THE WAR DRUMS,ONLY QUIETLY, THE FRENCH ARE SLEEPING!
Article 1 Section 8:The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
To borrow Money on the credit of the United States;
To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;
To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;
To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;
To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States;
To establish Post Offices and post Roads;
To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;
To constitute Tribunals inferior to the supreme Court;
To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offences against the Law of Nations;
To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;
I bring this up as a reminder that should we go to war, as some have said King George II is going to do, it will be a violation of "THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES" As well as the Recent U.N resolutions.
See folks, King George II STILL hasnt shown us the proof, if there was any to begin with, sure the pictures,phone recordings and satellite photos that Sec. of State Powell provided were excellent discoveries, they didnt show the proverbial "SMOKING GUN" that would lead the U.N. to agree to War.
Even the UN weapons head Hans Blix said that although Iraq was not providing much in the way of help, and violated some resolutions,
there was still NO SMOKING GUN to convince the U.N. to use military force against Iraq.
Now as we inch closer to the point of no return from the abyss, its not Iraq we should be worried about...but North Korea, see N.K has already signaled that they want to drive the point that if we war with Iraq, we would feel the wrath of their power.
As the comparrisions to Vietnam are made, and as anti-war sentiment grows,one thing is extremely clear...we are in a fix.
Lets face it folks, as far as the war on terrorism goes, we are fighting a losing battle, so while the alerts go either red, or orange, or green , or blue...the fear and panic that the news networks and MSNBC are airing is not really helping, neither are the
press briefings at the pentagon helping either.
lets also face it, as for Afghanistan, yea we got rid of the taliban, but is the new regime doing anything to change what has happened??
Sure we get rid of the disease...but the cancer still remains, The united states is not supposed to be the worlds police officer,while King George II beats the drums of war, our economy continues to fall, the stock market is sinking to 1978 levels, businesse are closing down right and left and scandals are popping up like zits on a tennager ready for his first dance.
The state of the union IS NOT SOUND, it is in a state of decine that continues to sink with every wrong step, and wrong turn King George II makes.
From ENRON to KMART King George II is not focusing on the real problem, instead he wants to create more heartaches for the nation.
Remember, no one wins when there is a war, we all lose..
TOPIC TWO:REALITY TV OR "i'm a viewer...get me out of here"
Now heres something to think about,what if you programed a network and only showed REALITY SHOWS??
scary part is, it could happen!
with the cost of series tv skyrocketting to heights unknown, one thing is cheap ..REALITY TV!
from "Survivor" to "Big Brother" to talent shows and even "are you hot", the new wave of Television programming seems to be REALITY based shows.
If you havenet seen one, be greatful! for they are growing like crab grass on acid!
"Survivor" begat "big brother" which begat"American Idol",which begat "The real world" which begat "Road Rules" which begat "fear factor" which begat "joe Millionaire", which begat "Meet My Parents", which begat ..well you get the idea..
Reality shows are indeed cheap to produce, but really folks, arent you wanting something a bit more fun...
Is Hollywood so desperate for another blockbuster TV show that they have run out of Ideas...AND MONEY???
While "FRIENDS" is on its final laps, there has been NO ....repeat NO breakout comedies,or dramas to quench the
viewers thurst, instead weve got more reality shows coming out the wazoo.
